<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel integrated with a liquid crystal display device which prevents leaking of light through the side face of the touch panel. <P>SOLUTION: This touch panel is composed of a backlight unit, a liquid crystal panel on the backlight unit, and a touch panel on the liquid crystal panel. The touch panel has a light shielding sidewall made of an opaque dielectric formed on the side face of the touch panel. Or, the dead space of the touch panel in the upper part of a casing column which supports the touch panel and the liquid crystal panel is shielded against light by the casing, or one or more electrodes made of an opaque metal and an adhesive made of a light shielding material are disposed in a dead space in the touch panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
