IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a defective image by guaranteeing smooth image writing operations.

SOLUTION: This image recording apparatus comprises: a drum which is rotated by winding a recording material P on an outer peripheral surface; a rotating means 900 for rotating the drum; an image writing means 300 for writing an image on the recording material which is wound around the drum 31; and a movement means 700 for moving the means 300 in the axial direction of the drum. The image recording apparatus is equipped with a control means C for controlling the movement means 700 so as to make the means 300 reciprocate all over the area independently of the image writing operations.
