<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive optical amplifier and an optical device which has the optical amplifier. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical fiber amplifier having a plurality of input/output lines, an excitation light source common to a plurality of amplifying medium and an optical isolator common to a plurality of lines which function at once to a plurality of substantially parallel light beams are used, so as to reduce the cost incurred for each input/output line of the optical fiber amplifier required for the plurality of input/output lines. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
