The low noise dartboard has a noise damping layer between the sensor plate (30) and the backing plate (11). There is a space between the backing and sensor plates so that the pins (21) on the rear of the target segments (20) do not transmit shock forces to the sensor plate indirectly to the backing plate if the dart engages the segment.
