A method of coating an electrical wire capable of positively spraying a coating liquid toward the outer surface of an electrical wire in a constant amount at a time and surely preventing decoloring off the electrical wire by a coating layer deposited on the outer surface of the electrical wire. An electrical wire coating device (1) forms a coating layer, consisting of acrylic resin, on part of the outer surface (3a) of the electrical wire (3). The electrical wire coating device (1) is provided with a spray unit (32) that sprays a constant amount of a coating liquid at a time toward the outer surface (3a) of an electrical wire (3) fed out by a pair of belt conveying units (13). The coating liquid consists of a coat agent of acrylic resin constituting a coating layer and a solvent for melting this coat agent. The concentration in a coating liquid of the coat agent is at least 0.1 mass% and less than 3.75 mass%.
