<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit and a controlling method for stabilizing a wavelength whereby a channel is precisely obtained with an accurate specific wavelength from light outputted from a tunable element in an optical communications system. <P>SOLUTION: The unit comprises a beam splitter for splitting light into first light and second light, a first light sensor which directly receives the first light and converts the first light into a first electric signal, a second light sensor which indirectly receives the second light and converts the second light into a second electric signal, a Fabry-Perot etalon which is disposed between the beam splitter and the second light sensor and separates light having a specific wavelength in second light, an optical filter which is disposed between the Fabry-Perot etalon and the second light sensor and filters a partial channel of light having a specific wavelength, and a server element which receives the first electric signal and the second electric signal and performs signal processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
