PURPOSE: A method of controlling a mobile communication terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to use plural prepaid cards, and to automatically select the cheapest prepaid card if a user inputs a telephone number of other party, thereby reducing telephone charges. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal previously inputs card access numbers and card numbers in a sub memory(S30). If a user inputs a telephone number through a key input unit(S31), an MSM of the mobile communication terminal senses the inputted telephone number(S32), and automatically selects the cheapest communication card relative to the inputted telephone number(S33). The MSM automatically delivers a card number and an access number of the selected card to an exchange(S34). If the card number and the access number are authenticated in the exchange(S35), the inputted telephone number is delivered(S36). A call is made through a PSTN(S37).
