A propargyl benzyl alcohol ester derivative represented by formula (I): wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, an ethyl group, a methoxycarbonyl group or an ethoxycarbonyl group is provided. Also, a method for producing the derivative and an insecticidal or moth proofing agent containing the derivative as an active ingredient are provided. The derivative has fast-acting property and lethal effect simultaneously, and is highly safe and excellent in volatility.
