DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING REVERSE DATA RATE IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a reverse data rate in a mobile communication system and a method therefor are provided to effectively control a data rate of terminals when transmitting data in reverse direction from a mobile communication system, thereby improving a system capacity and minimizing an interference caused in forward direction. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal receives a global RCB(Rate Control Bit) and a dedicated RCB(401). The mobile terminal checks whether the global RCB is set to '1'(402). If so, the mobile terminal checks whether the dedicated RCB is set to '1'(404). If so, the mobile terminal increases a maximum rate(405). If the dedicated RCB is not set to '1', the mobile terminal maintains the maximum rate as a current rate(406). If the global RCB is not set to '1', the mobile terminal checks whether the dedicated RCB is set to '1'(403). If so, the mobile terminal proceeds the step '406'.
