INK JET PRINT HEAD AND METHOD FOR DISCHARGING INK

PURPOSE: An ink jet print head and a method for discharging ink are provided to improve energy efficiency and printing speed by vibrating ink instead of boiling the ink, to reduce the limitation on the sort of ink, and to compact the structure of a print head. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet print head comprises an ink channel(112) formed in a passage plate(110), an ink chamber(114) formed in the passage plate, an ink outlet(122) formed in a cover plate(120) prepared on the passage plate, a condenser lens(132) prepared in the position corresponding to the ink chamber at the bottom face of the passage plate, and a laser beam irradiating unit irradiating a laser beam(142) to the ink filled in the ink chamber through the condenser lens. The surface of ink is vibrated by the pressure wave generated by the laser beam. According to the vibration, ink drops are discharged through the outlet.
