PROCESS FOR MICROCRYSTALLIZATION OF INDOMETHACIN

PURPOSE: A process for the microcrystallization of indomethacin is provided, thereby administrating indomethacin by an injector, minimizing toxicity of microcrystallization by using no organic solvents, easily controlling dose due to its small size and size uniformity, and improving biological efficacy by increasing the surface area of indomethacin crystals. CONSTITUTION: The process for the microcrystallization of indomethacin comprises the steps of: reducing pH of indomethacin saturated solution to 7 to 7.5 by adding zinc acetate; increasing pH of indomethacin saturated solution to 8 to 9 by adding NaOH solution; and reducing pH of indomethacin saturated solution to 5.5 to 6.5 by adding 0.5N HCl solution at a rate of 0.25 ml/min, wherein the microcrystal of indomethacin has the size of 10 micrometer. An anticancer composition comprises the microcrystals of indomethacin.
