PURPOSE: A device for converting a network mode in accordance with transmission efficiency between a Bluetooth device and a wireless LAN and a method therefor are provided to define a threshold value for wireless transmission efficiency, and to automatically convert a wireless network mode through a mode conversion switch if the transmission efficiency is out of the threshold value, thereby preventing the Bluetooth device and the wireless LAN from being simultaneously used. CONSTITUTION: A network mode conversion device(30) comprises as follows. A Bluetooth modem(31) transceives data according to Bluetooth standards. A wireless LAN modem(33) transceives data according to wireless LAN standards. A threshold value comparator(34) compares a transmission efficiency between the two modems(31,33) with a threshold value, and outputs a switch control signal. A mode conversion switch(35) connects the Bluetooth modem(31) or the wireless LAN modem(33) with an antenna. A server(101) builds a Bluetooth modem therein, and connects the network mode conversion device(30) with a TCP/IP network(102). An access point(104) transceives data according to the wireless LAN standards, and connects the conversion device(30) with the TCP/IP network(102).
