摘要 The invention relates to a cantilever arm comprising at least one nanotube made from a piezoelectric material and having an inner surface, an outer surface, a first end fixed to a base and a second free end, at least one electrode provided on said inner surface and at least one electrode disposed on said outer surface such that said free end of said nanotube is deflectable by applying an electric signal to said electrodes. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing and operating said cantilever arm. Further, the invention concerns a storage device and a tunable photonic band gap structure, both comprising an array of aforementioned cantilever arms. <IMAGE>
