PURPOSE: A method and a device for encoding a variable-length text on an e-mail, and a computer-readable recording medium recording a program executing the same are provided to correctly display the contents of an original message including a more than one text encoding method on a receiver computer. CONSTITUTION: If a web server(18) receives a transfer request of a main message from the receiver computer(20), the corresponding mail message is extracted from a web database(16). The web server converts the text encoding method of the corresponding mail message into the variable-length test encoding method and transmits the converted mail message to the receiver computer.
