PURPOSE: A rotary actuator is provided to stably support and rotate a heavy structure at a large rotary angle. CONSTITUTION: A rotary actuator is composed of a tube(10), an end cap(30) coupled to the tube and having a first flange(31), an axle rod(40), a piston(50), a first pin(60), and a second pin(70). The tube includes first and second oil ports(11,12), and a plurality of through holes(17). The axle rod includes a second flange(41) disposed at one side of the tube, a slant-groove rod(43) having a plurality of first slant grooves(43a), and a shaft rod(45) slidably coupled to the end cap. The piston includes a piston head disposed between the tube and the shaft rod, and a slant-groove body(53) disposed between the tube and the slant-groove rod. A plurality of second slant grooves(53a) are formed at the outer circumference of the slant-groove body. A plurality of pin holes(57) are formed at one side of the slant-groove body. The first pin is installed at the pin hole, and is fit into the first slant grooves. The second pin includes an end unit(71) fit into the second slant groove, and a head unit(72) fixed to the through hole.
