The method involves determining signals of the dynamics of the vehicle movement in the pulling vehicle (1) and outputting the signals as braking values to the trailer (2). The trailer includes a braking system, in which the brakes are operated on the basis of the braking values. The regulating system of the dynamics of the vehicle movement receives data signals from the trailer and the braking value is determined using the received data signals.
