<p>Processing a carcass part of slaughtered poultry comprises applying and fixing the carcass part to a product carrier; moving a wing-joint positioning mechanism via neck opening into the interior of the carcass part, the wing positioning mechanism having wing-joint positioning surfaces arranged such that the positioning surfaces hold the wing joint in a predetermined position; and exerting an internal pressure on carcass part. Processing a carcass part of slaughtered poultry, the carcass part comprising at least a part of a rib cage, meat that is naturally present on the rib cage, neck opening, and wing joint, and having an interior, comprises applying and fixing the carcass part to a product carrier that is movable and engages the interior of the carcass part; moving a wing-joint positioning mechanism (21) via neck opening into the interior of the carcass part, the wing positioning mechanism having wing-joint positioning surfaces (22) arranged such that, in a defined position of the first wishbone blade with respect to the carcass part, the positioning surfaces hold the wing joint in a predetermined position; and exerting an internal pressure on carcass part such that one wing joint is supported in the predetermined position by a wing-joint positioning surface of the first wishbone blade. An independent claim is also included for a device for processing a carcass part of a slaughtered poultry, comprising product carrier for supporting and retaining the carcass part; wing joint positioning mechanism designed to be introduced into the carcass part via the neck opening; and pressure-exerting mechanism (23) for applying external pressure on the carcass part.</p> |
