FIELD: transport engineering; steering gears. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of checking condition of steering gear by value of steering wheel play. According to proposed method, steering wheel is turned to both sides from initial position through angle exceeding wheel play with residual displacement of front wheel under check and basing on torques required for returning into initial position, angular range of play is formed with reference to angular displacement of steering wheel, after which play is evaluated by value of angle measured between limits of angular range. ^ EFFECT: improved accuracy of play checking. ^ 3 dwg |
