PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting receiving apparatus and a method for embodying program guide information are provided to store information corresponding to a broadcasting program retrieved before being converted from a program guide information display mode to a broadcasting mode. CONSTITUTION: A remote controller(170) has a program guide key(172) which inputs a converting command for converting a broadcasting mode into a program guide information display mode. A storing unit having a guide information storing unit(142) and an identification information storing unit(155) stores guide information about broadcasting programs and information corresponding to a broadcasting program retrieved before being converted into the broadcasting mode. If a signal of the program guide key(172) is received through the remote controller(170), a control unit(180) displays a program guide information picture through a display unit(140). If information about the broadcasting program retrieved before being converted into the broadcasting mode exists in the storing unit, the control unit displays broadcasting program information on the program guide information picture.
