PURPOSE: Provided is an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibiting crude drug composition which inhibits the AChE, and is effectively used in preventing and treating various diseases due to the concentration reduction of the in vivo acetylcholine, such as senile dementia like Alzheimer's disease, myasthenia gravis, asthenia of gastrointestinal tract and urinary bladder smooth muscle, and glaucoma. CONSTITUTION: The AChE inhibiting crude drug composition comprises an essential oil extracted from a mixture of Mentha arvensis var. piperascens Mak., Cinnamomum cassia Blume, Amomum cardamomum L., Cnidium officinale Makino or Angelica genuflexa Nutt, and Agastache rugosa Fisch. et Mey. or Pogostemon cablin Bent., or a mixture of essential oils from the respective herbs. A medicine, a food or an aroma is made using the composition.
