APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DEVELOPING VOLTAGE IN IMAGING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a developing voltage in an imaging apparatus are provided to extend the life of a developing device by minimizing a developer flying problem and preventing the degradation of a developer. CONSTITUTION: A developing bias power unit(112) selectively supplies one of the first DC voltage and the first AC voltage overlapped with the first DC voltage to a developer transport body. A developer supply bias power unit(113) selectively supplies one of the second DC voltage which is higher than the first DC voltage and the second AC voltage overlapped with the second DC voltage to a developer supply member. A controller(120) controls the developing bias power unit(112) and the developer supply bias power unit(113) so that at least one of the developing bias power unit(112) and the developer supply bias power unit(113) supplies one of the first AC voltage and the second AC voltage in a developing interval. The controller(120) controls the developing bias power unit(112) and the developer supply bias power unit(113) so that the developing bias power unit(112) and the developer supply bias power unit(113) supply the first DC voltage and the second DC voltage in a non-developing interval, respectively.
