Cell culture device (1) for performing at least one in vitro assay that includes a removeable chamber. Cell culture device (1) for performing at least one in vitro assay comprises: (1) at least one chamber (2), which holds at least one support (17); (2) at least one device for controlling at least one operating parameter of (2), during use; and (3) at least one system for supplying fluid to, and removing it from, (2). The operating parameters are temperature, pressure, humidity and optionally also at least one other parameter of a medium containing the cells on (17). The new feature is that the chamber is removeable. An Independent claim is also included for an in vitro test method that uses the new device.
