PURPOSE: An AV system, an AV apparatus, and a digital data recording medium for easily allowing, restricting, and limiting recording or dubbing of a digital signal from a television station or digital VCR are provided to control recording of an video image even if the video image is seen on a television or monitor. CONSTITUTION: The first information indicating copy-allowed frequency of digital data is received from the outside, and the first information is stored on a storage medium before storing the digital data on the storage medium, wherein a charge for the first information is paid. The first information stored on the storage medium is read. If the frequency that the digital data are copied is smaller than a value of the first information, the digital data is converted into a form reproducible at an external device, and transmitting the converted digital data to the external device is allowed.
