The device has a mobile screw-locking device (8) moving a head-rest (5) to a retracted position and resetting the head-rest from the retracted position to stopping position when in unobtrusive and active positions, respectively. An activating device (10) moves the locking device from the unobtrusive to active position when the head-rest (5) is moved to its retracted position. An Independent claim is also included for a vehicle seat.
