摘要 A process for polymer evaporation in which a mixture of polymer and residual monomers, oligomers, and solvent is extruded thru side by side nozzles preferably of equal height in a degassing container with a polymer thruput per nozzle of preferably 0.7-1.3 kg/hour, the vapor pressure of the liquid components of the polymerization solution in the container is higher than 2.5 bar, the concentration of residual volatiles is less than 20 wt.%. and the absolute pressure in the container is 50-5000, preferably 100-1500 Pa is new. A process for polymer evaporation in which a mixture of polymer and residual monomers, oligomers, and solvent is extruded thru side by side nozzles preferably of equal height in a degassing container, the vapor pressure of the liquid components of the polymerization solution in the container is higher than 2.5 bar, the concentration of residual volatiles is less than 20 wt.%. and the absolute pressure in the container is 50-5000, preferably 100-1500 Pa. An Independent claim is included for a styrene polymer with or without rubber components treated as above and having a residual volatiles content less than 300 ppm.
