PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make avoidable a decrease in throughput in the case of a small-size paper by preventing an end part from rising in temperature. SOLUTION: A fixing device which drives a fixation surface controlled to be at a specified temperature with a pressing rotary body to rotate and clamps and carries recording paper for fixation is provided with an air blowing means capable of controlling the rotating speed of a fan, a partition means of forming an airflow channel penetrating the fixation surface and a paper conveyance path in series, and a fan rotating speed control means of controlling the fan rotating speed according to a printer status so that the temperature of a fixation surface paper non-passage part is lower than permissible temperature. Even in continuous printing of small-size paper, the fixation surface paper non-passage part is deterred from rising in temperature and throughput-down control can be avoided which is carried out to prevent the paper non-passage part from rising in temperature.
