PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical product having high refractive index and high transparency. SOLUTION: The composition for a resin is produced from a composition containing (a) 1-50 pts. wt. of an inorganic compound containing sulfur atom and/or selenium atom, (b) 50-99 pts. wt. of a compound reactive with the compound (a), and (c) 0.001-10 pts. wt. of a compound accelerating the reaction of the compound (a) with the compound (b) by prepolymerizing the composition at 0-150°C for 1 min to 72 hr.
