PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly method of cages for fitting a middle side plate without scratching the cosmetic design surface of a ceiling plate. SOLUTION: In the assembly of the elevator cage, a length dimension L1 of the middle side plate 30b is set to be shorter than a length dimension L2 from the ceiling plate 9 to a floor frame 8 by a specific dimension, other side plates excluding the middle side plate 30b are fixed to the ceiling plate 9, the floor frame 8, and an adjacent side plate. After that, the middle side plate 30b is fitted, and a jack bolt 10 is screwed from the lower portion of the floor frame 8 and the middle side plate 30b is pushed up toward the ceiling plate 9 for fixing, and a liner 11 is inserted between the middle side plate 30b and the floor frame 8.
