PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a wide front viewing field between forkbars for a driver and stably mount racks constituting an interlocking mechanism of a fork. SOLUTION: A first rack guide 7 is placed on the upper surface of a cylinder tube 6a, and a second rack guide 8 is placed on the lower surface of an upper forkbar 3a. The both rack guides 7 and 8 slidably support a pair of racks (first rack 7a and second rack 8a) with their rack teeth facing each other. One ends of the racks 7a and 8a are joined to forks 5 via brackets 5a, and the other ends of them extend in the opposite direction. In the middle part of the upper forkbar 3a where the second rack guide 8 is placed, the second rack 8a is engaged with the upper part of a pinion 9 rotatably supported by a hanging middle bracket 3d and the first rack 7a is engaged with the lower part of the pinion 9.
