PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot welding method by which the pressurizing force to be required can be obtained regardless of the welding attitude of a spot welding gun. SOLUTION: In order to take the influence of gravity in the welding attitude of a spot welding gun 6 into consideration, a first pressurizing force table 8 in the case where the pressurizing direction of a movement side tip is made the same as the gravity direction and a second pressurizing force table 7 in the case the pressurizing direction of the movement side tip is made the same as the antigravity direction are previously prepared. Based on the angleθmade by the pressurizing direction and gravity direction of the movement side tip in an optional welding point of the spot welding gun 6 and the first and second pressurizing force tables 8 and 7, an electric current command value in which the influence of the gravity in the optional welding point is considered is calculated. A servomotor driving the movement side tip is controlled based on the electric current command value, so that the pressurizing force to be required can be obtained without depending on the welding attitude of the spot welding gun 6.
