<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor and a method for monitoring the battery of an automobile. <P>SOLUTION: A processor is provided, where the processor determines the state of lifetime in the battery. A reserve state of health (RSOH) in the battery and a cranking state of health (CSOH) are calculated and the state of lifetime (SOL) in the battery is determined as the function of the RSOH and CSOH corresponding to the calculation. Additionally, the voltage sensor of the battery and a current sensor are provided as the monitor of the battery, and the processor is provided which receives a signal for indicating the operation of the electronic component of a vehicle from a data bus, and compares a measurement parameter with a history one for identifying the exchange of the battery.
