PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood locking device reduced in size, eliminating the occurrence of noise at the time of unlocking, and commonly usable as an over tilt lock. SOLUTION: This hood locking device comprises a hood hinge 7 rotatably pivoted on the tilt center shaft 4 of a hood 5 and fitted integrally to the forward rear surface of the hood 5, a hood stopper (8) having a front end part rotatably pivoted onto the hood hinge 7 and disposed aslant to form a downward slope toward the rear, a guide slit 10 extending from the longitudinal center part to a rear end part and bent upward near the rear end part to form a hooking part 11, and a guide pin 12 slidably loose-fitted to the guide slit and fitted to the guide slit 10 of the guide slit 10 when the hood 5 is opened to the front of the hood 5.
