PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance thermal head capable of making a protective film well function for a long time and stabilizing conveyance condition of a recording medium M. SOLUTION: In the thermal head wherein a plurality of heating resistors 3 are arranged on the top face of a base 1, and an electrode pattern 4 connected to the heating resistors 3 is stuck thereon, and the heating resistors 3 and the electrode pattern 4 are covered with the protective film 6, an electrically-conductive film 7 held always or temporarily at a ground voltage is stuck on the protective film 6, and a channel 7a is provided on the electrically-conductive film 7 positioned just above the arrangement of the heating resistors 3, and the surface of the protective film is exposed from the channel 7a.
