The invention relates to a fluid product dispensing element which is intended to be mounted on the opening (90) of a fluid product container (9). The inventive element comprises: a body (1) containing therein a variable-volume chamber (15), said body defining a lower end (10); an actuating rod (7) which can move to-and-fro in an axial manner inside the body and which comprises an upper part defining an upper end (79); a peripheral support flange (52) which extends radially outwards and which comprises a lower face (51) which is intended to rest at least indirectly on an edge (911) of the opening (90) of the fluid product container; and a neck joint (2) which is disposed in contact with the lower face (51) of the flange such that it is compressed between the flange (52) and the edge (911) of the opening. According to the invention, the axial height HS1 separating the lower face of the flange from the upper end of the actuating rod is essentially equal to the axial height HI1 separating the lower face of the flange from the lower end of the body.
