<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the directivity of an infrared signal without performing mechanical control. <P>SOLUTION: The infrared communication system is provided with a plurality of light emitting elements 14 and a plurality of light receiving elements 21 for receiving infrared signals from the light emitting elements 14. When transmitting the infrared signals from the light emitting elements 14 to the light receiving element 21, the light receiving element 21 to be a data transmitting destination is selected out of the plurality of light receiving elements 21 by a transmission control part 13, one or more light emitting elements to transmit the infrared signals to the selected light receiving elements 21 are selected, and data from a data generating apparatus 11 are modulated and outputted to the selected light emitting elements 14 by a transmission content modulating part 12. Then, the infrared signals received by the light receiving element 21 provided at a position to receive the infrared signals from one or more of the light emitting elements 14 selected by the transmission control part 13 are combined to demodulate the data from the data generating apparatus 11 by a demodulation part 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
