PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming an electrode layer on a solid electrolyte by which an electrode layer having a large electrode surface area can be obtained, further, the number of stages required for the formation of the electrode layer can be reduced, and man-power can be reduced as well. SOLUTION: In the method of forming an electrode layer, a metal salt solution and a reducing agent solution are arranged with a solid electrolyte molding held, and the metal salt solution is infiltrated into the solid electrolyte molding, so that metal is precipitated in the vicinity of the boundary on the side of the reducing agent solution in the solid electrolyte molding to form an electrode on the solid electrolyte molding.
