PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle which provides various information to an occupant on an operator's seat at proper brightness. SOLUTION: This display device for the vehicle comprises: a main display part 10 providing the various information to an operator and a fellow passenger on a front passenger's seat; a display part 12 for the operator providing the various information to only the operator; and a determination part 22 detecting the seating of the fellow passenger on the front passenger's seat 14 and detecting an operation by the fellow passenger on the front passenger's seat to an operation panel 16. In addition, the display device comprises a display control part 24a which, when the seating of or the operation by the fellow passenger on the front passenger's seat is not detected by the determination part 22, stops providing the various information by the main display part 10, and provides the information provided by the main display part 10 by the display part 12 for the operator.
