PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which is equipped with a waste ink vessel capable of being miniaturized by efficiently storing waste ink, discharged from a recording head in a suction recovery operation, pre-ejection, etc., without leakage. SOLUTION: A recovery mechanism part 10 comprises a cap 3 for capping the recording head 3, a suction pump 12 for recovering the waste ink from the recording head 3, and the waste ink vessel 1 for storing the waste ink which is recovered by the suction pump 12. At least one opening 16 is arranged on the top surface of the vessel 1 so as to evaporate the waste ink, and a porous film 17, which undergoes liquid-repelling treatment in such a manner as to cover the opening 16 so as to prevent a leakage of the waste ink from the opening 16, is joined to the top surface of the vessel 1.
