PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver ion-generating method and apparatus capable of enhancing dissolution of silver, most efficiently continuing to naturally generate a silver ion and increasing sterilization effect without making water color, turbidity and taste strong and without impairing devices and facilitating popularization by generally being preferred. SOLUTION: Treatment for removing dust in water is carried out by a dust-removing device and magnetism is applied to water by a magnetic water treating device 2 to remove a component to be magnetized contained therein and an undissociated component is removed by a process in which water from which the component to be magnetized is removed passes through a silver ion generator 4.
