PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for efficiently starting an internal combustion engine of port injection type. SOLUTION: The start control device of the internal combustion engine is characterized by supplying a fuel inside a gas cylinder situated in a compression process or a expansion process at running stop time of the internal combustion engine in advance, rotating an engine output shaft by utilizing a pressure generated at fuel combustion by burning the above-mentioned fuel in the gas cylinder at the next starting time, decreasing necessary torque to crank the internal combustion engine because of the above functions, and decreasing a load applied to the start control device such as a starter motor or the like.
