PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel driving device which has the circuit of a reduced scale. SOLUTION: The driving device has; a scan driver which is provided with a first power source for generating a first prescribed voltage and generates, on the basis of the first voltage, a scan pulse for setting each capacitive light emitting element of the display panel to a lit state or an extinguished state and applies the scan pulse to the row electrodes of the display panel; a sustaining driver which is provided with a second power source for generating a second prescribed voltage and generates, on the basis of the second voltage, a sustaining pulse for making capacitive light emitting elements set to the lit state to emit light and applies the sustaining pulse to the row electrodes of the display panel; and a reset driver which generates a reset pulse for initializing the state of capacitive light emitting elements on the basis of voltage obtained by adding the first voltage generated by the first power source and the second voltage generated by the second power source and applies the reset pulse to the row electrodes. By this constitution, an exclusive power source which generates the reset pulse is made unnecessary, thereby reducing the circuit scale. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
