PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor loaded in an electrophotographic apparatus with an intermediate transfer mechanism, protected from deterioration of electrical properties with age as well as from substantial variation of electrical properties due to variation of operating environment even when repeatedly used over a prolonged period of time, and capable of continuously forming images of superior image quality, and to provide a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus each loaded with the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor 100 comprises an aluminum substrate 3, a photosensitive layer 6 containing a charge generating material, an intermediate layer 4 interposed between the substrate 3 and the photosensitive layer 6, and an oxide film layer 2 comprising a metal oxide interposed between the intermediate layer 4 and the substrate 3. The intermediate layer 4 is formed by coating the top of the oxide film layer with a coating liquid containing at least an organometallic compound having a hydrolyzable characteristic group.
