The inventive vacuum furnace device for product processing by thermochemical hardening comprises a vacuum working chamber embodied in the form of a thick-walled metallic vacuum-tight cage which geometrically matches the distribution of external heat-generating elements in such a way that a temperature irregularity along the internal walls of the vacuum chamber is minimum for the operating heating rate.
