<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent relating to the regulation of bone metabolism, or the like, and having low side effect by usingγ-GTP (γ-glutamyl transpeptidase). <P>SOLUTION: This invention provides an osteoclast differentiation promoting agent inducing and expressing an osteoclast differentiation factor (a receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL)) by an amino acid sequence free from participation in the enzymatic activity ofγ-GTP; an osteoclast differentiation suppressing agent inducing and expressing a humoral factor (osteoprotegerin, OPG) belonging to a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor family by an amino acid sequence free from participation in the enzymatic activity ofγ-GTP; an osteoclast differentiation promoting agent effective for promoting the differentiation of osteoclast by inducing and expressing M-CSF (macrophage colony stimulation factor) by using an amino acid sequence free from participation in the enzymatic activity ofγ-GTP; an agent for regulating the turnover of bone metabolism by using the osteoclast differentiation promoting agent; an agent for inhibiting the osteoclast forming action ofγ-GTP, or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
