PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium of surface light incident type, by which a noise of a transferred signal is sufficiently reduced even though a recording layer manufactured with the film forming condition excellent in corrosion resistance is combined with a smooth reflective layer, and also to provide an information recording/reproducing method for this medium. SOLUTION: This information recording medium of surface light incident type has a feature that a reflective layer, an intermediate layer constituted of a granular structural thin film containing a metal, and a magneto-optical recording layer are provided in this order on at least one surface of a supporting body.
