PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a two-layer cosmetic which comprises separate two layers of an oil layer and a water layer, is emulsified by shaking, separated into the two layers by allowing to stand, is excellently safe and is favorably useful as a cosmetic especially for removal of makeup, cleaning the skin or skin care. SOLUTION: This two-layer cosmetic is obtained by formulating an N-long-chain acyl basic amino acid derivative and its acid addition salt, especially an N-cocoyl-L-arginine ethyl ester-DL-pyrrolidonecarboxylate with an oil agent and purified water. The addition of an organic acid or its salt to the cosmetic improves the storage stability of the cosmetic at a low temperature. The two-layer cosmetic exhibits excellent separability to two layers even without containing a lower alcohol and is excellently safe. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
