摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel spinel-containing ferrite spherical porous silica particle that has magnetic substance particulates highly dispersed in a silica matrix having regularly arranged micropores and pores due to particle interstice, and to provide a method for advantageously synthesizing thereof. SOLUTION: The spinel-containing ferrite spherical porous silica particle having a chemical structure represented by formula (1):SiO<SB>2</SB>-n(M<SP>II</SP>O-M<SP>III</SP><SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>)(wherein, M<SP>II</SP>denotes a mono or divalent metal element, M<SP>III</SP>denotes a trivalent metal element and n is a number of from 0.005 to 0.1) is characterized by having the X ray diffraction peak indicating the regular arrangement structure of the pore at the diffraction angle 0.5 to 5.0°(CuKα) and having a pore volume of 0.25 mL/g or more based on the micropore and simultaneously having the maximum value of the pore volume at a pore size of from 1.0 to 5.0 nm.
