A reactor chamber for producing methane biogas by fermentation and anaerobic breakdown of animal slurry or other organic material. The reactor has an inlet, an outlet and several mixer units. The reactor planform is asymmetric. The reactor chamber contains a partition wall that runs the length of the reactor at roughly the mid-line. The outlet is a suction outlet located at one corner of the reactor. The outlet is positioned over a depression in the reactor base. The reactor has an elongated form with only one right-angled corner and three non right-angled corners.
