A closing mechanism is fitted to e.g. a door, or a cabinet (T) and has an operating handle (B) linked to a first locking mechanism. The handle moves between a closed presentation (R) and an open presentation (A) in which the door can unlock to open or close and then lock (R). The handle is associated with a positioning element (P) which defines two different pivoting positions in which the handle can swing to either of two pre-defined closed positions.
