PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce CO concentration and to prevent excessive increase of the temperature due to methanation in the process of removing CO in reformed gas to be used for, for example, a fuel cell and essentially comprising hydrogen and containing carbon monoxide.

SOLUTION: The catalyst for purifying carbon monoxide is used to remove carbon monoxide from reformed gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide, and contains Ru and Fe. The hydrogen purification apparatus has a CO purification catalyst layer 3 using the above catalyst and an oxygen supply part 3a.
